WHAT IS COACHING?
Coaching is a unique partnership between coach and client that inspires personal growth and transformation in the life of the client while navigating their way through the fears and pit falls that can hold them back from their dreams.
A coaching conversation is a focused conversation based on the client's agenda. Through an objective perspective, engaged listening, honest feedback and accountability the coach is able to get to the heart of the matter for the sake of moving the client forward toward what they want.
COACHING IS NOT COUNSELING OR THERAPY:
Typically counsellors and therapists focus on the past and how it has impacted the client's current reality by identifying possible emotional wounds and behaviours. Coaches start with the current reality and work with the client to get them to their desired future. It is an equal partnership between coach and client, working together for the sake of the client's transformed life.
AREN'T COACHES FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE "SCREWED UP"?
My coaching practice is based on the premise that everyone I work with is "Naturally, resourceful, creative and whole". This means that no one is "screwed up" or "broken". We've all experienced getting in our own way whether it's getting into a relationship, losing weight, going for our dream job. Even athletes at the top of their game need coaches to point out the blind spots and keep them on target towards the goal.
HOW EXACTLY DOES IT WORK?
Once you have committed to having the life you want we will begin the process of self discover, exploration and transformation:
Self Discovery - We will start by getting a full picture of who you are today. What makes you, you. We will identify your values, core beliefs, strengths, passions and desires
Exploration - With the foundation built we will begin to design the plan of what you want your life to look like, identify and get real about those barriers that keep stopping you and find ways, through accountability and powerful actions, to move you closer to your dream
Transformation - With a clear picture of who you are and a plan to overcome any obstacle you will be on your way to accomplishing what you've always imagined but, perhaps didn't dare dream was possible.
As you can see, this is work that doesn't happen over night which is why client's work with me for a minimum of 3 months. We meet 2 - 3 times a month depending on what we design together, with any necessary contact in between session. Each session is like a touch point as the learning and growth happens in between as the client applies what they have discovered in each session.
